Behind the Rub.

Hi I’m Jeremy, the founder of Death by Rub BBQ. Growing up in a small Ohio town, BBQ was barely on my radar until I moved to Florida.

My real exposure came when I joined Mannix Pools and Grills, where I discovered BBQ’s vast world, thanks to B.J. Mannix. Smoke on the Water in Winter Haven, FL was a turning point, showing me the differences between northern and southern BBQ and introducing me to Bracken of Kick Yo Butt BBQ. His sauces and eggrolls hooked me deeper into BBQ. Attending Eggfest, an event supporting local charities, was another eye-opener, leading me to buy my first Big Green Egg. The friendships and support from people like Dave Frosch, Scott and Alesha Weiner, and my loved ones have been crucial to this journey. Thank you all for helping make my BBQ dream a reality!
